The Breitenfeld Group operates as a producer of special steels in Austria with about 200 employees. We produce quality products of conventionally produced materials, and also by ESR and VAR. BREITENFELD EDELSTAHL AG is the steel plant in the company and produces ingots in round, square, polygonal and flat formats ranging from 1 ton to 120 tons unit weight for further processing in forging and rolling operations. The line-up ranges from quenched and tempered steels up to stainless steels for various fields of application such as aerospace, nuclear, oil and gas industry. SCHMIEDETECHNIK BREITENFELD GmbH is the forging plant and specialized in the manufacture of steel bars in flat, round and square dimensions (range dia 95 - dia 460 mm), rings, discs and smaller forgings. Mainly high-alloy materials are conventionally melted, as well as ESR and VAR used. SONDERSTAHLWERK BREITENFELD GmbH operates two ESR sites and one VAR site and produces blocks with dimensions round 420 - 1200 mm with unit weights ranging from 3 to max. 35t. These two methods especially obtain a high degree of purity and a very homogeneous microstructure, which is necessary in the critical areas of the field in aviation and energy.
